On the eve of Thanksgiving, I pictured me all in the holiday spirit, excitedly prepping food, making lists, preparing the house, all the busy work that I really do enjoy to make it nice for my family. Instead, I’m working on my mental space so I can feel all the feels of the holidays. When unexpected challenging times hit during the anticipated happy times, it’s a struggle. I know I’m not alone in this because it’s just how life is. How to keep a joyful facade in the face of really difficult hurt feelings? Well, this is how I’m handling it and perhaps it can help someone else dealing with it too.
- I stay disciplined in my daily routine. Workout, eat breakfast, keep my appts and keep my promises.
- Do my daily personal development time which includes prayer, self-improvement podcasts or books, journaling my gratitude.
- Surround myself with the community that gets me. Friends, biz partners, family members. –
I’ve opened up my computer to work with my biz partners right now so I can pour into the peeps that I help. Service is my superpower and always strengthens me. I can’t let my emotions get the best of me. Although I allow myself to feel my own humanity, I don’t allow it to dictate the way I want to lead and live my life. God is at the helm with me and He will help me steer in the right direction. Writing this has been great therapy for me too, not to mention getting my eyelashes done by @mystylistsara who doubles as my therapist😘
Thanks for allowing me to express friends. I hope this helps you too. Please share your ways of getting your mindset back on track?🥰
